Homestead & Prepper is a unique site in that it is a combination of the two subjects in our name, homesteading and prepping. While these are two distinct subjects, the overlap between them makes obvious sense to anyone involved with either.
This site is owned by Prepper Press and is a sister site to SHTF Blog.
Our focus here is on finding practical solutions to everyday homesteading and prepping challenges. Unlike other sites in the prepping niche, we do not focus on conspiracy theories or political agendas. We strive to bring you some of the best how-to, DIY, and information articles we can.
We do not farm our content out to people who do not know the subject matter. Every article on this site was written by someone who is at least familiar with the topic at hand. We hope you enjoy them and most importantly – find them useful.

Derrick James – Prepper Press CEO
Derrick resides in rural Maine. He is the founder of both SHTF Blog and Prepper Press. He purchased Homestead and Prepper in 2020 after the site had sat idle for too long.
After cleaning the site up and giving it a fresh look, he found a great team of knowledgeable writers to generate articles on homesteading and prepping. Follow Derrick on LinkedIn.

Gabriel Gregoire – Contributing Writer and Editor
Gabe spent his formative years on a 100-acre intentional community. Growing up off the grid taught him skills in vegetable gardening, wood heating, reading for entertainment, and general self-reliance. He now lives amid the trappings of society and technology in Nashville, Tennessee.
Gabe cut his writing teeth as a weekly contributor to a city paper in Maine, the Portland Phoenix. He has done freelance writing for National Today, the TOP Agency, and others, and now with the Prepper Press family of websites he’s pleased to find that some of his fondest memories make legit homesteading material.
